Vitamin D

Vitamin D comes to us with sunlight. While excessive sun exposure is certainly bad for your skin, there are certainly benefits to be had of it in small doses. Some foods are also rich in Vitamin D.

Foods Rich in Vitamin D:

  • Fish: salmon, chinook, sardines, cod.
  • Schrimps
  • Milk
  • Egg

Vitamin E

While Vitamin E is generally thought to be helpful in scar healing, it can also be helpful in fighting acne - thanks to its antioxidant properties. Studies suggest that it should only be taken in small doses.

Foods Rich in Vitamin E:

  • Sunflower Seeds: enjoy them raw while watching movie.
  • Almonds
  • Olives
  • Greens: Mustard Greens, Swiss Chard, Spinach, Collard Greens, Turnip Greens, Kale, Broccoli.
  • Papaya
  • Blueberries
  • Red Peppers

Niacin

Niacin helps open up the blood vessels, improving good circulation under the skin. Unlike the other mentioned vitamins, niacin can be effectual as a mask applied on the skin.

Foods Rich in Niacin:

  • Tuna
  • Salmon
  • Chicken Breast
  • Turkey
  • Calf's (Veal) Liver
  • Halibut
  • Wheat Bran
  • Crimini Mushrooms
  • Sardines
  • Peanuts

Zinc

Zinc is well known trace mineral used in acne treatment but as it has a lot of popularity in fighting acne - some say it helps, some say it doesn't help at all.

Foods Rich in Zinc:

  • Calf's (Veal) Liver: as mentioned before, it's also rich in Niacin.
  • Low Fat Roast Beef
  • Sesame Seeds
  • Oysters
  • Roasted Pumpkin and Squash Seeds
  • Venison
  • Yoghurt
  • Shrimps: contains Vitamin D as well.
  • Green Peas
  • Turkey: it contains great deal of Niacin as well.
