Loose Powder
Looking beautiful knows no bounds. It can be done any which ways that suits you. There are varied products in the market which can easily give that shine on your face. One of such cosmetic product is the loose powder – which should be used only after knowing the skin type. It can otherwise develop rashes and allergies if it doesn't suit the skin tone.
There are five different skin types that are usually found. They are
- Normal Skin – This type of the skin appears to be really soft, supple, and the pores that it has are small to medium.
- Oily Skin – Oily Skin usually has the shiny texture due to excess of oil on the skin surface. It is due to this excessive oil content that one gets pimples, blackheads and whiteheads. The pores are vivid and quite large.
- Dry Skin – Dry Skin would have a stiff and rigid feeling. The dryness and stiffness makes the skin so hard that the pores are generally not visible.
- Combination Skin – Women usually have a combination skin type – which means that the cheeks are usually dry and the forehead, nose and the chin (the T zone) is oily.
- Sensitive Skin – Sensitive skin is generally prone to getting rashes and allergies if a certain cosmetic product doesn't suit the skin type. Sensitive skin could range from anything like oil, dry, normal or a combination skin.
Loose powder is designed in a way to put up a finished, pore-less appearance and in a way helps you to keep the makeup in place for a longer period of time. The usual shine that you might see the entire day on your forehead, nose and chin is also done away with by the help of loose powders.
Tips for using Loose Powder
The best skin for a loose powder is a normal skin as you can wear any kind of powder, translucent one is the best. This is made to absorb in any excess oil that might appear on the nose or your face.
Those who have an oily skin, go for a talc based translucent powder – this will close the open pores and bring up less of oil on the skin surface. Those who have a combination skin type, try applying loose powder on the oily areas specially the T-zone – this might help you show the natural skin your cheeks and cheekbones - giving a more natural look.
If one has a dry skin, you should consider the fact that the area around the eyes and forehead usually looks dry easily, so go in for a light-deflecting, moisture laden loose powder. It will, in a way, give an illusion of the skin to be normal the moisture content in the powder will help soften the dry areas.
Lastly, if you have a sensitive skin, opt for a hypo-allergenic product. Sensitive skins might develop allergies to cosmetics and fragrances which doesn't suit and thus a hypo-allergenic product reduces the chance for a chemical reaction. But don not forget the fact that a sensitive skin can also be normal, dry, oily or a combination type – thus know your skin type first.
